Lucknow: The two suspected Al-Quida terrorists have been sent to the police custody for 14 days, a day after the duo was arrested by the Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) in Lucknow on Sunday. According to sources, the arrested terrorists have their connections with the Al-Qaeda-supported Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind outfit. ATS Special Judge Yogendra Ram Gupta sent them to police custody.
The arrested terrorists were identified as Maseeruddin and Minhaz Ahmed while their third accomplice has been identified as Shakeel. They were reportedly plotting terror attacks across Uttar Pradesh ahead of August 15. According to the report, the detained persons were in touch with people across the border and planning to carry out terror activities in various cities of Uttar Pradesh. The ATS had also recovered two pressure-cooker bombs, a semi-manufactured time bomb and six to seven kilograms of explosives.
