Lucknow: In a shocking incident of medical negligence in Uttar Pradesh's capital, a living patient was declared dead by the doctors of Lucknow's Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital.

The hospital administration said the patient had died due to low oxygen level in the body and the family of the patient was handed over the 'body' for cremation.

The woman, identified as Sukhani Gautam, a resident of Salenagar was reportedly admitted to the hospital recently. Though her Covid report came out negative, she complained of having a breathing problem.

On Sunday, the hospital informed the family that she had passed away but the woman was later found 'alive' while she was being taken for last rites in an ambulance, her family claimed.

The victim's family said that they found her 'breathing' and informed the doctors who later confirmed that she was 'alive'. The family has accused the doctors and blamed the hospital for medical 'negligence'.
