Aligarh pregnant woman allegedly raped by father-in-law

The eight-month pregnant woman in Uttar Pradesh also alleged that she was threatened and warned of divorce by her husband and mother-in-law when she told them about the incident.

Aligarh: A pregnant woman in Uttar Pradesh was allegedly raped by her father-in-law who on the pretext of getting her a labourer's job took her to Assam and sexually assaulted her.

The victim with her parents on Thursday reached the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP)'s office with a written complaint demanding justice.

She alleged that she was threatened and warned of divorce by her husband and mother-in-law when she told them about the incident.

Taking immediate cognizance of the case, the SSP has directed the concerned station in-charge to file a case.

SP Crime Dr Arvind Kumar said that the woman has given a written application in which she has accused her father-in-law of rape. After examining that application, the case has been registered. The woman claims she was pregnant at that time, so during the investigation, the truth will be revealed.
