Ballia: As the Lok Sabha polls have kick started in the country, the district administration in Ballia district of Uttar Pradesh is sending people invitation letters to cast their vote.
The administration is adapting new and unique ways to woo voters to join in the voting race. Also, the administration is organising rallies joined in by the school children.
The Ballia district election officer on Friday, organised a meeting and arranged to send an invitation letter to every voter who has moved out of Ballia in connection with employment.
During the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, Ballia had about 51 per cent voting. The district administration is now aiming to bring the district into the first division during the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
Ballia district election officer Bhavani Singh Khangarot said, "Ballia lacks industrial vision, due to which the youth has to move to other provinces in search of employment. They come to vote for gram pradhan elections. Therefore, we should urge them to contribute in the general elections. As the youth of the world's largest democracy should be a part of forming its government as well."
"Information regarding their current addresses is being gathered through the Booth Level Officer (BLO) so that letters can be sent," he added.
