Barabanki (Uttar Pradesh): Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday constituted a three-tier inquiry committee over the Barabanki mosque demolition case.

Under the chairmanship of Shivakant Dwivedi, Special Secretary, Minority Welfare and Waqf Department, the committee will submit its report to the government within 15 days.

What is the case?

A mosque near the Ramsheni Ghat tehsil premises was demolished last Monday by the district administration as the authorities said they demolished an illegal structure on court orders.

Condemning this action, Waqf Board chairman Zufar Farooqui said that the district administration misused its power.
