Lucknow: All India Muslim personal law board will file a review petition on Ayodhya verdict. A legal document has been signed by 4 parties in Lucknow.
The Supreme Court on November 9, in its historic verdict, ordered the central government to form a trust, within 3 months, to hand over the disputed site to the trust. Meanwhile, the Muslims shall get a suitable alternative plot measuring 5 acres at Ayodhya.
It had said that the Sunni Waqf board is not able to establish adverse possession. Muslims have not presented any evidence which proves that they had exclusive possession prior to 1857. The ouster of Muslims was not by lawful authority. The Muslims have been deprived of the mosque.
The Shahi Imam of the Jama Masjid in Delhi, Syed Ahmed Bukhari, on Saturday said that they accept the judgement and stressed that the matter should not be dragged further.
However, now the AIMPLB has decided to file a review petition. There will be an all-important meet on Sunday with the other Muslim stakeholders in the case.
Asaduddin Owaisi on Ayodhya verdict had said, "Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi on Saturday expressed dissatisfaction with the verdict in the Ayodhya title suit, quoting former Chief Justice JS Verma to say the Supreme Court was "indeed supreme, but not infallible."
Until the formation of the trust, the site will continue to vest in the statutory receiver under the Central government.
