92-year-old jail inmate chained up during treatment in UP's Etah

A 92-year-old jail inmate sitting on a hospital bed, wearing an oxygen mask with his feet chained to its footboard went viral on several social media platform on Thursday. According to the reports, the jail warden has been suspended.

Etah (Uttar Pradesh): A viral video from Uttar Pradesh's Etah has created an uproar on social media which showed a 92-year-old jail inmate sitting on a hospital bed, wearing an oxygen mask with his feet chained to its footboard.

According to the reports, the man has been identified as Baburam, has been facing jail term for several years.

The jail inmate was admitted to District Woman Hospital after he was suffering from shortness of breath.

The jail warden has been suspended while Etah jail directed the hospital authorities to remove the chain.

Also, DG Jail Anand has demanded an explanation from the official responsible for the incident.
