Jhansi (Uttar Pradesh): Three members of a family allegedly committed suicide by consuming poison in Uttar Pradesh's Jhansi, police said on Friday.
Arvind, a resident of Chirgaon, 30 km away from Jhansi, along with his wife Rekha and son Naitik had allegedly consumed poison.
Following that Arvind and Rekha died on the spot while Naitik was rushed to the hospital for treatment, police said adding, though, he passed away during the treatment.
During the investigation, police have recovered a suicide note which revealed that the family was going under distress for two months due to the sudden death of the couple's daughter.
Besides, it was also revealed that Naitik had a conversation with his paternal uncle after they had consumed the poison. Following which police was being informed about the incident.
Police, however, recovered the deceased bodies and sent for postmortem.
The Superintendent of Police (SP), Rahul Mithas said that the exact matter would be cleared after the autopsy reports will come, however, a case has been registered and further investigation is in process.
