Dozens hurt in cracker factory blast in UP

About 24 women working in the cracker factory in Moradabad were admitted to hospital after they were hit by a fire that followed a blast. There's no word yet on what caused the explosion.

Moradabad: Over 24 women were critically injured after an explosion in a cracker factory in Uttar Pradesh on Thursday. The injured were admitted to near by hospital.

According to reports, the incident took place in Moradabad district when the women were working at the factory in Kanth town.

The blast was followed by a fire, which injured the people inside.

The intensity of the blast was so strong that people who were outside of the factory also suffered injuries.

Emergency services rushed to the scene and rushed the injured to a nearby hospital.

Dr RK Sharma at the district hospital said," Patients have reached the hospital. Two patients are serious. The remaining patients are stable. All have been admitted."

ADM administration Surendra Singh said, "Whether the factory's license has been renewed or not is under investigation.

However, the cause of the blast is yet to be ascertained and there was no loss of life.
