Karimnagar (Telangana): As the country is struggling with the coronavirus crisis, everyone is doing their bit to help those in need. Sharada, a woman Sarpanch of Shalapalli-Indiranagar village of Huzurabad Mandal in Karimnagar district in Telangana decided to distribute her crop to the families in need.
Sharada, who hails from a middle-class family gained the trust and love of the villagers by distributing essential goods to the poor families in her village. She decided to distribute her crop for free to poor families rather than selling it in the market.
She distributed 25 kgs of rice each to as many as 650 families including wage labourers and sanitation workers. A total of 53 quintals of rice was distributed.
Not only this, Sharada, also distributed masks to the villagers worth of Rs.20,000. She also organised awareness programmes related to coronavirus in the village.
