Woman farmer locks revenue office in Guntur over negligence

A woman in Telangana locked the employees of the Machavaram Tehsildar's office inside the office premises after her petition for the measurement of her field was neglected by the employees. The woman refused to unlock the building until her demands were met.

Guntur (Telangana): A woman in the Guntur district of Andhra Pradesh today locked the employees of the Machavaram Tehsildar's office inside the office building.

Lakshmi, a farmer, had on May 11th filed a petition for the measurement of her field but did not receive any response from the Tehsildar's office. The woman repeatedly came to the office with her request but no one listened to her. Angry about getting no response and fed up with the authorities' behaviour for not responding to her petition, she locked the employees in the office.

Lakshmi demanded that her land be measured and shown per registration. She said that she will not unlock the office until justice is done.
