Shankarapatnam (Telangana): In a bizarre incident, a groom refused to tie the nuptial knot demanding a bike. The parents of the bride were shocked by the groom's demand and were helpless as they cannot afford to give him a two-wheeler. However, Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Rasamayi Balakishan, who was present at the wedding, gave Rs 50,000 to the groom and assured him to pay the remaining cash at the showroom.
The marriage of Anusha, the daughter of Mallaiah and Gajula Lacchamma, the former sarpanch of Ambalpur village in Shankarapatnam mandal of Karimnagar district, was fixed with Sangala Vinay of Vennampally village in Saidapur mandal after agreeing on formalities and gifts. During the wedding on Friday, the groom Vinay got into a fight with the bride's parents over a two-wheeler. He started insisting that he will marry only if they give him a vehicle
At the same time, Manakondur MLA Rasamai Balakishan, who came to attend the wedding ceremony, tried to convince Vinay. But, he didn't listen. At last, the MLA promised to buy a bike for the groom. MLA consoled the bride Anusha and handed over Rs 50,000 to the groom. The MLA told the groom that he would pay the rest of the money at the showroom. Then the marriage was performed. MLA Rasamayi Balakishan said that the bride belongs to a poor family and he gave financial help when the marriage was stopped due to a fight at the last moment.
