Warangal: Corona suspect's dead body left outside casualty for 2 hrs in MGM Hospital

A coronavirus suspect's body kept lying unattended outside casualty ward in the state-run Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Hospital (MGM) hospital for around two hours until the family arranged an ambulance. Telangana on Tuesday recorded a total of 11,529 active cases.

Warangal (Telangana): The body of a woman suspected to have suffered from coronavirus was kept lying outside the casualty ward in the state-run Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Hospital (MGM) hospital for around two hours in Warangal.

The body was not even kept in the mortuary until the family arranged an ambulance.

"A 68-year-old woman was suffering from shortness of breath and was brought to MGM hospital from Hanmakonda. The patient succumbed in minutes after getting admitted to the hospital. She might have COVID-19. Her family members took the dead body and left the hospital," said Dr Srinivas Rao, Superintendent, MGM Hospital.

According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Telangana on Tuesday recorded a total of 11,529 active cases. However, 422 deaths have been recorded so far.
