Vikarabad (Telangana): Amid the ongoing Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) crisis, yet another employee of the organisation attempted suicide by jumping infront of a moving bus in Vikarabad district of Telangana on Monday.
Venkataiah, a driver with the TSRTC, who was participating in the ongoing strike called by the transport employees, was almost run over by the bus when locals rescued him.
Police officials said that Vekataiah has been suffering through depression owing to his poor financial condition.
As many as four TSRTC employees have committed suicide until now, while several others have attempted to do the same.
The striking employees of the TSRTC on Monday intensified their indefinite protest against the sacking of over 40,000 employees by the state government.
The Joint Action Committee (JAC) of TSRTC has been on a strike since October 5 demanding merger of the corporation with the state government and revision of pays among other demands. The strike entered its 23rd day on Monday.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao has said that there is "no question" of having any talks with the agitating 48,000 RTC employees.

Various political parties including the Congress and Telugu Desam Party have also come together in support of the RTC employees and are demanding the state government to take them back.
