Three Maoists arrested in Telangana

Three Maoists were arrested from Bhadradri Kothagudem district in Telangana. During a press conference, Superintendent of Police Sunil Dutt said Maoists had been picking tribals from Chhattisgarh and training them in Telangana.

Bhadradri Kothagudem (Telangana): Three Maoists were arrested from Manuguru in Telangana and 10 gelatin sticks, three detonator tenders, four batteries and a wire bundle were seized from their vehicle, Bhadradri Kothagudem Superintendent of Police (SP) Sunil Dutt said in a press conference.

Savalam Pojya, Sodi Seethaiah and Kunja Jogaiya were arrested following an interrogation.

Maoists surrendering

Dutt said COVID-19 infection in jungles, Maoists have been surrendering before the police. Maoist leaders Aitu alias Ganga and Ramaiah succumbed to COVID-19 recently, he said. Ganga was taken to Bhadradri Kothagudem district hospital but medical treatment could not save him. SP Dutt also added that many Naxalites in the Maoist camp have been infected with Covid-19 and they have been using drugs and medicines without prescription.

According to Dutt, Maoists have been picking tribals from Chhattisgarh and training them in Telangana. He asked the tribals to refrain from joining Maoists camps.
