Hyderabad (Telangana): The Central Government has decided to conduct a pre-readiness test (dry run) in order to make the Covid vaccine available to the public.
For this, 3 states across the country have been selected.
Of these, Telangana and Haryana have been confirmed while Uttar Pradesh or Gujarat is likely to be the third state.
Telangana was the first state in the country to implement the comprehensive universal vaccination program 'Mission Rainbow', Measles-rubella (MR) vaccine, polio injection, etc. Taking this into consideration, Telangana has been selected for conducting a pre-readiness test for the implementation of Covid vaccine.
The procedures which are to be followed when vaccinating are tested experimentally in the dry run.
Covid vaccines are stored in the coldest place in the state and from there the vaccines are transferred to the district level storage centre after which they are transported to hospitals where the vaccination is carried out.
