Hyderabad: As the lockdown is slated to continue in the wake of rising COVID-19 cases in Telangana, the state horticulture department is planning to distribute mangoes, the quintessential summertime fruit, to citizens via home delivery.
According to reports, the postal department has been roped in to pick up and deliver the fruits, home. The distribution first will be carried out in the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad.
The customers will have to give their detailed address and place the order following which the fruits will be delivered in 4-5 days.

The horticulture department will collect the ripe mangoes directly from the farmers. A basket of 5 kg is said to have around 12-15 mangoes in it.
The order is taken based on kilos and the variety one needs to purchase. The super grade Banaganapalli mangoes are enjoyed in this time of the year across the state. Besides, the order can be placed via three Whatsapp numbers throughout the week till 5 pm.
The price of 5 kg Banganapalli mango fruit box is Rs. 350, which includes delivery charges.
