Telangana: Rachakonda Cyber Crime ACP cautions people against online frauds

Rachakonda Assistant Commissioner of Police, Cyber Crime has cautioned people regarding cybercrime and warned them of fraudsters. He also asked netizens to beware of fake links while using social media platforms.

Hyderabad (Telangana): Assistant Commissioner of Police, Cyber Crime Rachakonda, S Harinath cautioned people regarding cybercrimes during coronavirus pandemic, warning people against fraudulent schemes.

He said that these days the modus operandi of fraudsters is to woo people to buy cheap items on social media platforms.

"Fraudsters share some fake links on social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram. People fall prey to those fake links, in order to buy expensive products cheaply, only to lose their money," he said.

He said that netizens need to be very careful while using social media.

Harinath further said that fraudsters often ask for Paytm, Google pay, PAN number and other account details.

"They also ask people to scan the QR code which is programmed to loot the money. This is how most of the Cyber Crimes are taking these days hence, people have to be aware of these things," he added.
