Four held for rape of Hyderabad student

Police have arrested four people in connection with kidnapping and rape of a pharmacy student in Hyderabad on Feb 10 in Medchal district. The investigation revealed that all of them had formed a gang and committed atrocities and raped several others.

Hyderabad: Key facts have come to light in the kidnapping and gang rape of pharmacy student in Hyderabad on Feb 10 in Medchal district. Rachakonda police said the accused abducted the student and gang-raped her according to their plan. With the help of CCTV footage, four auto drivers were arrested.

Girls and women who go alone are the targets of these four auto drivers.

The culprit who raped the girl was about to kill her when the sirens of the police vehicles rang on all sides and they backed away.

The investigation has revealed that all of them had formed a gang and committed atrocities and raped others.

Pre Planned Kidnap

The victim (19) is a student of the second year of B-Pharmacy in a college near Medchal. Every day, she goes home situated at RL Nagar by auto after getting down from the bus at Rampalli Chowrasta which is 15 kilometres away from her house. The main accused usually parked his seven-seater passenger auto at Rampalli Chowrasta. She became a target of the kidnappers when she travelled by their autorickshaw.

She Informed Her Mother

As usual, the girl got off a college bus near Rampalli Chowrasta between 5.30 pm and 5.45 pm on Wednesday and came to Auto Adda. With two women in and a young man, she climbed into it as usual. Two got down from the auto near Satyanarayana Colony which is a Kilometer distance from Chowrasta and the other one got off at some distance. The accused drove the auto towards Yanampet without stopping there. The girl suspected that the driver was taking her to somewhere without stopping at her stop. So she called her mother and told her that she was scared. When she told her family about the incident, they called Dial 100 at 6.30 pm.

She was Drugged and Raped

As the auto approached Yanampet, two other people climbed into it and sat next to the young woman in the back seat. Another man was ready with a van in the suburbs of Ghatkesar. There the young woman was forcibly loaded into a van and given narcotics and got gang-raped. At that time, the siren of the police vehicles rang with an announcement "someone Kidnapped a girl in an auto. If anyone has seen her please give us information". Hearing the announcement they got scared of encountered if caught.

Victim's condition is Stable now

Hearing the announcement they dumped the girl into the bushes and escaped. Police traced the victim based on the cell phone tower location and admitted her to a private hospital in Annojiguda. She was admitted to the city government hospital on Thursday for further medical examination. The victim's health seems to be stable now.

Four Auto Drivers arrested

With the help of CCTV footage near Rampalli Chowrasta police arrested four auto drivers. They were taken into custody early Thursday morning based on cell phone signals.

Protests demanding to punish the accused

The case is being investigated by Rachakonda CP Mahesh Bhagwat. According to the victim's mother, Keesara police have registered cases of rape and attempted murder against the accused. Rampalli RL Nagar and OU colonists expressed concern, demanding that the accused be severely punished.

Police inquiries into the criminal history of the accused seem to have uncovered several shocking facts. ‘They target women who go to college/jobs alone. After 15 days of observation, the main accused gets them into his auto. As the passengers disembarked, he picks up two other friends and flew away with the victim.
