Hyderabad: With the Sabarimala pilgrim season around the corner, ardent Lord Ayyappa devotee Arun Guruswamy launched the 'Swamiye Saranam Ayyappa' app, here on Wednesday.
Guruswamy, who has been instrumental in the construction and upkeep of various Ayyappa temples in Hyderabad, formally launched the app, which is now available for download on Play Store and iOS for free.
The app, developed by Gemini Consulting & Services, was built with the idea to make the journey of Ayyappa devotees to Sabarimala easier, and help them solve common issues which they face throughout their Deeksha and Yatra period.
The app contains an extensive collection of devotional content including Lord Ayyappa Slokas, stories, songs, daily panchangam etc.
The app offers multiple features including pooja management, services, information about the yatra like accommodation, maps and routes, emergency and safety features, and access to online services such as virtual queue, temple services, vazhipadu rates among others.
Devotees can also create poojas and invite other devotees and personalise the app to interact with fellow-swamis and guruswamis for guidance. They can also track the group members who are part of the yatra and get useful notes by guruswamis and receive notifications on the app.
The mobile application was founded recently in St. Louis, USA by Srinivasa Rajanikanth, MD, Gemini Consulting & Services, who himself is an ardent devotee of Lord Ayyappa.
Currently in English, the team is further planning to roll out the app in multiple languages like Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada.
