Man held for cheating 70 girls on Instagram

Police in Hyderabad arrested a young man for cheating 70 girls by posing as a woman on fake Instagram accounts.

Hyderabad (Telangana): Hyderabad cyber crime police have arrested a young man for opening fake Instagram accounts in the name of young women online and cheating girls. Sumant, who lives in Manikonda and works for Amazon company, opened fake accounts in the name of girls on Instagram and chatted with several young women. Gradually he became friends with them, started collecting photos of them and after trapping them he started threatening those girls. He harassed them sending obscene photos.

Hyderabad Cyber ​​Crime Police arrested Sumant following a complaint by a victim. Already 70 girls have been threatened by him, police said. The accused was identified as a native from Vijayawada.

"He opens a fake Instagram account, downloads a photo of a beautiful girl from the internet and creates a profile. Then sends a request to other young women. Starts chatting with people who have accepted his request to be a friend. After becoming close to them, he sends obscene pics and videos to the young women, morphs their pictures and harasses them," said Hyderabad Cyber ​​Crime ACP Prasad.

ACP Prasad said that such cases are increasing day by day. He said that it is difficult to identify such people. Girls on social media are advised not to chat with strangers, he added.
