The incident was reported in Moodepalle village of Chandurthi mandal during the small hours. Few hours later, the girl released a video statement stating that she was not kidnapped but went wholeheartedly with her boyfriend to get married.

In the CCTV video, one of the kidnappers is seen with his face masked with a cloth to hide his identity. He is seen dragging the girl towards the get-away car which was laying in wait. As she was a minor, the police booked the accused under the POCSO Act on a complaint by the girl's family. The police subsequently brought the accused and the girl to the village and since then they had not met each other. The girl's family recently fixed her marriage with some other man.

The girl, in her video, said that she went with 'Johny' on her own volition and got married to him again on Tuesday. "We've been in love for 4 years. Johny took me as per my wish and I married him. My parents were trying to get me married to some other person since Johny is a Dalit," she said.

"So I called Johny. I couldn't recognise him as he was wearing a mask when he picked me up this morning and we got married again. My parents filed a case against Johny. He was sent to prison," the girl in bridal make over said in the video, flanked with her newly-wed husband 'Johny'.
