Five nabbed by police for burglary in Hyderabad, Rs 1.28 crore seized

Telangana police arrested five burglars who broke into the house of a businessman and stole Rs 2.5 crore cash. Police managed to recover Rs 1.2 crore cash from the offenders.

Golconda: As many as five burglars have been arrested by Hyderabad police on Sunday and the cops have also recovered Rs 1.28 crore cash, a two-wheeler and a mobile phone from the accused.

The accused persons have been identified as Mohd Afsar (24), a driver, Mirza Ashwaq Baig (22), Rahman Baig (23) Mohd Ameer (20) and Syed Imran (23). All are residents of MD Lines in Tolichowki.

According to police, the accused broke into one realtor, Asaduddin Ahmed’s house on the intervening night of July 22 and 23 and decamped with Rs 2.50 crore.

The accused Afsar and Ashwar previously worked for Ahmed and were aware of his huge cash transactions. On July 21, the realtor along with his wife and children went to his farmhouse at Shamirpet. Next day, Afsar and Ashwaq along with three others broke into the realtor’s house and committed the offence, police said.

The matter came to light when Ahmed returned to his house on July 23 and lodged a complaint with the Golconda police station. On being informed about the incident police started an investigation into the matter and nabbed the five accused on Monday.

During the interrogation, the accused confessed that they had stolen Rs 1.28 crore, the total amount, finally recovered from them, police added.
