Hyderabad: A Rajani, a postgraduate degree holder who works as a contract sweeper in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has been offered a job as an assistant entomologist in the municipality on outsourcing basis.
Rajani's plight was reported on ETV Bharat which caught the attention of Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development KT Rama Rao who in turn offered her job as an assistant entomologist. The minister handed over the appointment letter to Rajani at his office on Monday.
Taking to Twitter, Minister KTR said "Best moment of my hectic day today. All the very best Rajni Garu in your new role."

Rajani's family belongs to Parakala in Warangal district. Her farmer parents did everything possible to help her complete her studies. She passed MSc (Organic chemistry) with first class in 2013. She also qualified for PhD at the University of Hyderabad.
Soon, she was married off to a lawyer. The couple has two children. Rajani kept trying for a job and attended competitive exams. Tragedy struck her family when her husband was diagnosed with heart disease. He also lost his job. The burden of running the family fell on Rajani, who was forced to take up the sweeper job in GHMC.
Rajani, who earned Rs 10,000 monthly is the sole breadwinner of the family. After seeing the ETV Bharat news report, many came forward to help her. Her ordeal has come to an end with minister KTR offering her the new job. Rajani thanked the minister for the job in the Entomology department.
