Hyderabad: In a suspected case of human sacrifice, an eight-year-old boy was brutally murdered here in Sanath Nagar and most of the bones of the corpse were broken before being dumped into a drain on Thursday night. Though police denounce the human sacrifice theory, they will pursue it to the logical end before concluding it with evidences.
The deceased boy identified as Abdul Wahid, a resident of Allaudin Koti locality and was traced to a drain in Moosapet during the wee hours after his father Wasim Khan lodged a missing complaint with the police. Police have arrested Imran alias Fiza Khan, a transgender, and four others for the murder. After the body was found, the boy's family ransacked the transgender's house. They claimed that there were indications of a human sacrifice and urged the police to probe that angle.
According to police, the boy was murdered over a financial dispute between Fiza and the boy's father Waseem Khan, who runs a business of readymade garments. The transgender ran a chit business and Wasim who has taken a chit was asking Fiza to pay up yesterday which led to a tiff with Fiza.
According to neighbours, four persons from the same locality took the boy to Fiza's house on Thursday and the boy could not be found thereafter. Subsequently, Fiza was arrested. During the interrogation, Fiza confessed to have committed the murder and disposing the body in a drain.
The family said Fiza sought the boy's help to get hydration drink and caught him when he handed it over. Fiza strangled him to death by forcing him in a bucket filled with water. Fiza, along with the help of an auto-rickshaw driver, stuffed the body in the water bucket. To do so, she had almost every bone in the boy's body and covered it with plastic bag which made it easy for them to transport without being spotted.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Srinivas Rao maintained that the murder was a fallout of a financial dispute. The DCP assured that the family's suspicion of the murder being a human sacrifice will also be probed. "All angles will be probed," he said.
Minister for animal husbandry T. Srinivas Yadav visited the locality and the site from where the body was recovered. He also reiterated that the case was not of a human sacrifice. He also assured that the culprits will not be spared. He promised a fast track court will be constituted to ensure speedy trial and punishment.
