Chennai: Two people were killed and another injured on Tuesday after a state-run bus ran over their motor bike near Nandanam highway here.
According to reports, the victims identified as Shiva, Bhavani and Nagalakshmi were on their way to work when a Metropolitan Transport Corporation (MTC) bus ran over them.
CCTV footage from the spot shows that Shiva, the rider, was trying to overtake the bus when the accident took place. As the bikers lost balance after hitting another bike they all fell under the wheels of the bus.
However, the other bike rider managed to stay unpright and survived the collision.
The accident victims were rushed to a private hospital where two of them were declared brought dead. All three hail from Andhra Pradesh and worked at a private firm.
Police investigation is on.
