Chennai (Tamil Nadu): A Zomato delivery personnel have been arrested by the police for delivering bottles of beer in Chennai.
The incident came to light when the police stopped Prasanna Venkatesh (32) at a checkpoint at the junction of KG Road, New Avadi Road on Wednesday evening.
Prasanna was arrested after the police found him with 10 bottles of beer in the food box he was carrying. Subsequently, the beer bottles were confiscated.

Prasanna revealed to police that door-to-door delivery of liquor was done because of the ongoing Covid-induced lockdown in Tamil Nadu.

Following this, the police registered a case against Prasanna and later released him on bail.
