Tamil Nadu govt imposes restrictions including full lockdown on Sundays

Tamil Nadu government has announced that there will be complete lockdown every Sunday from April 20. Every day there will be night curfew from 10 pm to 4 am, as per government sources.

Chennai: Amid surge of Covid cases, Tamil Nadu government announced complete lockdown on all Sundays, starting fromApril 20. Night curfew will be imposed from 10 pm to 4 am every day, according to government sources.

No public/private transport, autos, taxis would be allowed to ply during this time. No shops, theatres, malls would be allowed to function.

As declared earlier, class 12 standard examination in the state is postponed. In addition, there will be restrictions on tourism in place in the state. No tourists would be allowed to Nilgiris, Kodaikanal and Yercaud.

Government sources also added that beaches, parks would remain closed and public entry would be banned from April 20. Summer camps are also curtailed.

On Sundays, delivery apps like Swiggy, Zomato are permitted to operate between 6 am to 10 am and 12 pm to 3 pm and 6 pm to 9 pm. No e-commerce deliveries are permitted on Sunday.

Continuous process industries are allowed to function in the state, as per government sources. The enlisted restriction did not point out any restriction on Tasmac shops.
