Madurai: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin on Friday handed over the appointment letters of various government departments to the family members of deceased and injured in the police firing at the Thoothukudi anti-Sterlite protest.
The appointment letters were given based on the educational qualifications of the family members in Madurai.

16 people have been posted as junior assistants and one as a jeep driver. They will work in the revenue and rural development ministries in the Thoothukudi district.
Cabinet Ministers, PTR Thiagarajan, P Moorthy and KR Periyakaruppan and Members of Parliament Kanimozhi Karunanidhi and S Venkatesan were also present on the occasion.

The Tamil Nadu Chief Minister also presided over a meeting and reviewed the measures being taken to prevent the spread of Covid-19 in the city.
