Coimbatore: A youth was beaten to death with wooden sticks allegedly by the kin of 16-year-old girl, after he was spotted at her residence in Pollachi town in Tamil Nadu's Coimbatore district.
The deceased identified as Gawtham of Chinamapalayam village near Pollachi had been working at a boutique here.
According to police, Gawtham had gone to meet the girl on May 7 at her residence , while her family was away. However, the girl's family returned early and they spotted the duo at the house.
After a brief argument, three members of the girl's family started beating the youth with wooden sticks. Gowtham received injuries on head and later, succumbed to his injuries at Pollachi Hospital in the town.
The Pollachi East Police have filed a case of murder and have arrested the accused.
