Chennai: Soon after the hospital authority released a statement regarding the deteriorating health condition of the Veteran singer SP Balasubrahmanyam, actor-turned-politician Kamal Haasan visited him at MGM hospital in Chennai on Thursday.
While speaking to media here, Haasan said, "Life support machines are in use, can't say he's doing well. He's very critical, everyone are praying to the almighty."
According to the statement issued by the hospital, the veteran artiste is extremely critical.
"Thiru S P Balasubrahmanyam who had been admitted at MGM Healthcare on August 5th, remains on ECMO and other life support measures. His condition in the last 24 hours has deteriorated further warranting maximal life support and he is extremely critical. The team of experts at MGM Healthcare are closely monitoring his health condition," the statement read.
Earlier this month, family, friends and fans of SPB exhaled a sigh of relief when he had tested COVID-19 negative. With the news of his health again being critical, the social media is flooded with wishes of his speedy recovery.
On August 5, in a Facebook post, the singer had informed that he had suffered a very mild Covid-19 attack, following which he got himself hospitalised.
"No one needs to worry about me and please don't call me to find out how I am. I am perfectly alright except the cold and fever. Fever has also subsided. In two days, I will be discharged and I will be home," Balasubrahmanyam had said in the video.
