Madurai (Tamil Nadu): A minister in the Tamil Nadu government has said Prime Minister Narendra Modi discovered the world's first Covid-19 vaccine and as a result, India earned the respect of the world.
RB Udhayakumar who is also the candidate of the AIADMK in Thirumangalam constituency made the comment while sharing the stage with Modi at an election campaign in the southern city of Madurai on Friday.
Tamil Nadu will vote on April 6 to choose a new government. The AIADMK of chief minister Edappadi Palaniswamy and Modi's BJP are allies in the election against the opposition DMK, which is supported by the Congress party. The counting of votes will take place on May 2.
In the 2016 assembly elections, the AIADMK won 134 of the 234 seats, DMK bagged 80 seats, Congress managed only eight seats and the BJP drew a blank.
