Chennai: His blind wife started taking care of him when Chennai's Government Royapettah Hospital refused to admit him quoting the coronavirus pandemic. Such a tragedy that she didn't even realise when her husband took his last breath.

Thangappan, an old Man from Kerala and his blind wife Jaya were living on the roadside near Santhome Basilica for the past many years. Residents who were living around that area and other volunteers used to offer food and other essentials to them.

When Thangappan's health condition became unstable, the couple went to Government Royapettah Hospital for treatment, where the hospital management denied treating him.

Later, the couple returned and Jaya started taking care of Thangappan. After few days, Thangappan passed away and Jaya didn't even realise.

After people around their place noted this, they conveyed things to Jaya and the police were informed immediately.

After 12 hours, the police finally arrived and the last rites were performed after his body was tested for coronavirus.
