NCPCR showers praise to cops for their kind donation towards open heart surgery of 5-yr-old girl

National Commission for Protection of Child Rights has showered heaps of praises over two Tamil Nadu policemen for their kind donations of Rs 5,00,000 towards the heart surgery of a 5-year-old girl. Amid coronavirus induced lockdown, the family of the girl was struggling hard to arrange for funds after the health of the girl, who was born with a blockage in heart, started deteriorating.

Chennai (Tamil Nadu): Goodwill gestures of the cops received huge praises from National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) after Dr RG Anand, a member of NCPCR, visited Nandambakkam Police Station in Tamil Nadu and appreciated the policemen for their timely help to a 5-year-old girl for the heart surgery through their capacity.

Police inspector M Thangaraj and head constable K Senthil Kumar helped in saving a young girl's life as she was struggling with heart disease.

Kavishka (5) from Guduvanchery was born with a blockage in heart and has been under treatment since birth.

Her father Karthik was a salesman at a shop and his family was under severe financial crisis as they were running out of funds due to coronavirus-induced lockdown.

As the girl's health deteriorated, the doctors asked to undergo open-heart surgery to save the child which needed a huge amount of money.

On learning about the pain of the family, Senthil Kumar, who is also a neighbour of Karthik, decided to help them.

Kumar along with Thangaraj collected around Rs 5 lakh from their colleagues and donated it to Karthik for the surgery.

After the surgery, the girl recovered successfully and she will be discharged from the hospital on Saturday night.
