Tirupur: A young couple was arrested for allegedly killing a minor and dumping his body near a lake under Uthukuli police station limits in Tamil Nadu's Tirupur district on Friday.
As per reports, the murder came to light after police found the body of the 8-year-old boy near Pallagoundenpalayam lake in Uthukuli area of the district, upon being alerted by locals, who saw the corpse lying near the lake. Following which, the police informed the deceased's parents about the unfortunate incident. The boy was missing for the past 24 hours, as he did not return home on Thursday.
"The body was found with near Pallagoundenpalayam lake. We reached the spot after some locals alerted us that a dead body is lying near the lake," said a police official.
The victim identified as Pavanesh, resided with his parents Sumathi and Thangaraj, and his elder brother Vijnesh at a small village in Uthukuli taluk. The victim's parents used to work in Chitralaya Banians Company to earn a living for the four-member family.
During the investigation it was revealed that a young couple- Ajeet and his 17-year-old girlfriend - murdered the minor after they caught him peeping into their private moments.
"The murder took place near Pallapalayam lake but the young couple disposed the body near Pallagoundenpalayam lake," the police official added.
