Hosur Krishnagir (Tamil Nadu): A man in Hosur Krishnagiri district in Tamil Nadu has died after accidentally swallowing a live fish on Friday. The deceased was identified as Vetrivel(22) of Parvathi Nagar in Hosur Krishnagiri District, was working as a labourer.
According to sources, the incident took place on Friday morning when Vetrivel and his friends went to a lake in Therpettai area for fishing. and all were allegedly in an inebriated state.
In that time, Vetrivel attempted to swallow a live fish while his friends tried to make a "TIKTOK" video of it.
Following this, the fish got stuck in the middle of his throat, causing him to struggle to breathe for almost an hour Vetrivel's friends also tried to remove the fish but were unable to.
Immediately, they rushed him to a govt hospital in Hosur where doctors examined him and during the treatment, he was declared dead.
"The dead fish was taken out from his throat in autopsy and no video has been found relating to the incident, An inquiry is underway. We have started interrogating the deceased person's friends", police personnel said.
