Lockdown: Unable to pay loan, Madurai business man ends life

A 55-year-old printing press owner named Ilangovan stabbed himself to death in Tamil Nadu's Madurai. During the investigation, police recovered that the reason behind Ilangovan's suicide was not being able to pay loan to his lenders amid nationwide lockdown.

Madurai (Tamil Nadu): Ilangovan, a 55-year-old printing press owner, hailing from Ponmeni in Tamil Nadu's Madurai, stabbed himself to death on Thursday.

Police investigation revealed that, Ilangovan who was unable to stay afloat amid lock-down and increasing pressure from lenders was forced to take the extreme step.

Earlier, the 55-year-old had reportedly tried to kill himself by drinking pesticide.
