Leopard movements increasing at Valparai area near Coimbatore

Three leopards were seen roaming around on the roads at night in and around the residential areas in Tamil Nadu's Valparai area. Valparai, which includes the Anamalai Tiger Reserve, is home to a large number of leopards, tigers, bears, wild cows and wild elephants.

Valparai (Tamil Nadu): Locals in the Valparai area in Tamil Nadu's Coimbatore have been living in fear after Leopards were seen roaming around on the roads at night in and around the residential areas of Kakkan Colony, Rajiv Gandhi Nagar and Tulasi Nagar at Valparai.

Valparai, which includes the Anamalai Tiger Reserve, is home to a large number of leopards, tigers, bears, wild cows and wild elephants. The news of wild animals roaming around the locality has set the people on edge.

Three leopards were seen strolling down the road in the Kakkan Colony area at midnight yesterday, July 10. The incident was captured on a CCTV camera.

Considering the situation, the forest department has advised the people not to come out at night as the leopard movement in the area is increasing.
