Tamil Nadu: A family of five, including three children, were found dead at their house in Salamath Nagar in Villupuram district on Friday.
According to sources, the man worked in a jewellery store and had incurred heavy debt and suffered losses in business. He was also involved in purchasing the illegal three-digit lottery tickets that were available in Villupuram.
Preliminary information suggests that family members consumed cyanide and have taken the extreme step due to mounting debts.
The deceased man has recorded and shared a video to his friends to take steps to ensure that illegal lottery tickets are abolished in Villupuram.
"There is no justice in this world. I have fed poison to my children. At least eradicate lottery in Villupuram," he said in the video.
A case has been registered by the district police.
