Ex-Tirunelveli Mayor, husband and maidservant killed

Former Mayor of Tirunelveli Uma Maheswari along with her husband and their maidservant were brutally murdered by a gang of unidentified members in their house on Tuesday evening.

Chennai: In a shocking incident, former Mayor of Tirunelveli Uma Maheswari, her husband Muruga Sankaran, and their maidservant were hacked to death on Tuesday.

The DMK member, Maheswari was elected as the first female Mayor of Tirunelveli in 1996.

According to the police, some unidentified persons came to Maheswari’s house in the evening and committed the crime.
