DMK's Raja faces case for insulting TN CM

Chennai (Tamil Nadu): Police in Chennai filed a case against DMK lawmaker A. Raja for his derogatory comments against Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami.

The case filed by the Central Crime Branch or CCB is based on the viral video being circulated on social media. The case has been booked under two sections and for causing a nuisance in a public place.

The former federal minister started a controversy after he insulted Palaniswami at an election campaign for the polls on April 6 to choose a new state government.

Palaniswami's AIADMK has urged the Election Commission to ban Raja from campaigning and demanded his arrest.
