Coimbatore: With days to go for Tamil Nadu assembly elections, Coimbatore south has become a platform for a star-studded campaign. The constituency facing the three-way contest between the Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP), Congress and the Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM). The most fascinating contest is expected to be between Actor turned politician Kamal and Vanathi Srinivasan.
From Union minister Smiriti Irani to Actor Namitha, the BJP has been deploying various celebrities on the streets and leaving no stone unturned to win back a seat in the western part of Tamil Nadu.
The MNM has become a force here with party president Haasan himself contesting in the constituency.
Meanwhile, actor Suhasini on Sunday campaigned for her uncle Kamal Haasan in Race-course road.
Expressing the confidence in her uncle's winning prospects, Suhasini said that people seemed relieved when they came to hear about MNM. She added that their grievance would be addressed once MNM comes to the power in the state.
