A Nigerian citizen has been deported to his country after he was arrested by the Tiruchirappalli police for his illegal stay in India. He was in the central prison in Tiruchirappalli since August 2018.

Tiruchirappalli (Tamil Nadu): A 31-year old Nigerian citizen has been send to his home country from Chennai International airport on thursday for his illegal stay in India.

His original name is Odo Maduabuchi Kingsley and has been staying in the state in the fake name J Steven John Obuchi since 2003.

He had been languishing in the central prison in Tiruchirappalli since August 2018 after he was arrested as an illegal immigrant in Tiruchirappalli. But he escaped from the prison on July 19 and again he caught on September 14th from Sonipet in Haryana State.

After the arrest, Tiruchirappalli city police commissioner A Amalraj sped up the process to deport him to his home country.

Odo Maduabuchi Kingsley(31) Nigerian, was arrested for illegally staying in the Chennai state in the fake name of J Steven John Obuchi since 2003. During his entry to India, he had a valid passport but intentionally he threw away his passport and faked his identity to avoid being deported to his country.

He intended to indulge in criminal activities and stay here,” said inspector Sahaya Anbarasu who involved in this case.

He had been languishing in the central prison in Trichy since August 2018 after he was arrested as an illegal immigrant in Tirupur. But he escaped from the prison on July 19 and again he caught on September 14th from Sonipet in Haryana State. Immediately he placed in the Trichy Central Prison.

The police officers released him and send him to his home town Doha in Nigeria from Chennai International airport on Thursday.
