The protesters demanded that their land should be compensated under the new Land Acquisition Bill.

The movement is being led by Dr Nagendra Singh Shekhawat who is the chairman of Yuva Sangharsh Samiti.

Farmers initiated this movement after the Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) started taking possession of 1300 bighas of land for the proposed Nindar Residential Scheme on Sikar Road of the city. After acquiring the land, the proposed plan will get a front on the highway.

After the introduction of the new Land Acquisition Act, the JDA is facing problems in securing land following weaker financial conditions.

BJP leader Satish Punia attacked the state government over the issue, he said, " Not only farmers but the common people will also have to take 'samadhi' if the state government will continue to work this way."

Under such circumstances, since the beginning of 2020 JDA is actively capturing the land and hence, the farmers and villagers were forced to run this movement.

Farmers alleged that their lands have been acquired according to old Land Acquisition Bill even after the implementation of the new bill by the Centre.

Earlier, JDA claimed that they were following the process to remove encroachment in the scheme and will also provide information to farmers about future benefits.

On 2 October 2017, farmers from Nindar protested against the laxity in administration and held the 'Satyagraha' movement to save their land which lasted for two and a half months. Later, the then BJP state government was forced to accept the demands and farmers withdrew their decision.

The movement was called off after assurances from the government. Former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, who was in the opposition at the time, also supported the movement of farmers. But despite being in power in Rajasthan, Ashok Gehlot-led Congress party has failed to meet the demands of the agitated farmers.
