Alwar: The city of Alwar in Rajasthan witnessed a unique wedding on October 14 that sent out several important messages to the society.
In this wedding, the bride rode a chariot to the groom's house as an initiative to send out the message of gender equality.
The duo- Ajay Jatav and Babita, got married in Karol village of the Alwar district, keeping the ceremony entirely plastic-free.
Another notable element in their wedding was that it was solemnised by the Indian Constitution and not by any priest.
The couple also donated books worth ₹30,000 to set up a free public library in the village to promote literacy.
Ajay Jatav, who works in a private company in Hyderabad, said, "I didn't take any dowry and the invitation cards were sent digitally and printed on clothes for environmental protection."
Moreover, every guest at the wedding were gifted a copy of the Indian Constitution and a sapling.
