Jodhpur: Searing heat on the border where the temperatures go fairly high can make one run for cover, but not Border Security Force (BSF) jawans! For them guarding the borders without caring for extreme weather conditions has become second nature by now.

With the rising mercury levels in Western Rajasthan, even ACs and coolers are not able to compete with the heat and provide relief to the people.

The soldiers, who have been bearing the terrible heat on borders with unwavering commitment and patriotism, really stand out amidst all the problems. The tough training that they undergo makes them physically and mentally capable enough to withstand such extreme pressure situations.

In this regard, special arrangements are being made for the BSF troopers on the Indo Pakistan border, who are engaged in patrolling the country's security in the horrid heat.

The BSF officials said that cold rooms are being made on the border so that the heat struck jawan can be kept in the cold room for first aid. Later, they are being shifted to Jaisalmer- Badmer headquarters.

BSF Deputy Inspector General of police MS Rathod said that the Jawans are being regularly provided with lemonade and buttermilk, so that they are not dehydrated. They are also being provided with mango and onion pickle, to prevent the recurrences of them getting heatstrokes.

The BSF has increased the water supply for jawans doing the duty along the fence, but one can't help but admire the commitment of these jawans who are least bothered by the extreme weather conditions.
