Rajasthan paper leak case: ED launches probe into large scale money transactions

The ED has also issued summons to RPSC member Babulal Katara, President Sanjay Shrotriya and Secretary Harjilal Atal.

Jaipur: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has registered a case into the large scale money transactions into the Rajasthan teacher examination paper leak case and issued summons to the Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) officials in the matter, sources said on Thursday. It is learnt that the ED has registered a complaint in the paper leak case which has put the Ashok Gehlot government in the dock.

Besides, the ED has also issued summons to RPSC member Babulal Katara, President Sanjay Shrotriya and Secretary Harjilal Atal. Investigation into the paper leak case has revealed that it was RPSC member Babulal Katara who had given the general science paper to Sher Singh alias Anil Meena, the kingpin in the paper leak case, in lieu of Rs 60 lakh.

Babulal Katara has already been arrested in the case. Sources within the Enforcement Directorate said that an investigation will be done regarding the large scale transaction of money. Following the paper leak in the senior teacher recruitment examination conducted by RPSC last year, the Rajasthan SOG had launched an investigation in the case.

The SOG had arrested main kingpin Sher Singh alias Anil Meena, from Odisha. During Meena's interrogation, the name of RPSC member Babulal Katara surfaced in the case. Later, the SOG arrested Babulal Katara along with his driver Gopal Singh and nephew Vijay. During interrogation, it was revealed that Katara had given the paper to Shersingh after taking Rs 60 lakh.

On the examination day, candidates were caught solving the teacher recruitment paper in a moving bus. At least 55 candidates were arrested by the police from the bus. The Ashok Gehlot government had canceled the paper for the exam.
