Chittorgarh: One person has died while another was critically injured in a case of alleged mob lynching following a suspected cattle smuggling incident in Rajasthan, police said on Monday. The incident took place in Chittorgarh near Madhya Pradesh border under Begun police station limits. According to sources, Babulal, a resident of Anchal Kheda village in Madhya Pradesh, was trying to smuggle cows on Saturday night along with Pintu.
While their pickup vehicle was passing through Bhil Khedi village, few villagers along with cow vigilantes stopped the vehicle at the Bilkhanda intersection and started thrashing the two men. On getting informed, police reached the spot and heavy force has been deployed in the area. "The two men were rushed to a local hospital where Babulal succumbed to his injuries. We have recorded Pintu's statement. Few villagers have been detained for interrogation," Begun CI Ratan Singh said.
