Churu (Rajasthan): Rajasthan police on Sunday arrested a youth from Churu district for allegedly raping a girl on the pretext of marriage. The accused youth has been identified as Mukesh aka Rameshwarlal.
According to police, the accused had proposed the girl and used to frequently meet her at abandoned places. He then developed physical relation with the girl on the fake promise of marriage for the past few months.
Recently, the victim asked him to marry her, but the accused denied and subsequently started blackmailing her. The accused, Mukesh had also allegedly taken Rs 90 thousand and a gold chain from the victim, police said.
Later, the victim lodged a complaint in this regard. On the basis of her complaint, the police registered a case and nabbed the accused.
After registering a case against Mukesh under Sections 384, 506, 354, 376 (2) of the IPC, police have started an investigation into the matter.
Meanwhile, the police conducted the medical examination of the accused and produced him in a court later in the day.
