Dausa: Five people were killed and nine others injured when a jeep in which they were travelling, rammed into a stationary truck in Rajasthan's Dausa district, police said on Tuesday.
All deceased were the residents of Sumerpur Tehsil in the state.
The mishap took place at Mehandipur-Balaji turn when the victims were returning home to Pali from Haridwar, police said.
Speaking on the incident, circle officer Suresh Meena told a news agency, "The incident took place around 4:30 am near Dausa area of Rajasthan. Five people have died in the accident."
"We have cleared the road and have sent the bodies for postmortem," he added.
The deceased were identified as Manoj, Mohan, Puni Devi, Nanu Devi, and Pushpa Devi. The injured are being treated at a local hospital, the police informed.
